Major Galleries

Gertrude Contemporary Founded in 1985, Gertrude Contemporary is one of Australia's most significant artist-run organisations. The exhibition programme is consistently adventurous, featuring emerging and mid-career artists working across all media. Studios and residencies support working artists. Free entry.

MARS Gallery — 253 Rokeby St, Collingwood A leading contemporary gallery specialising in urban and street art. MARS bridges the gap between street culture and the formal art world, showcasing some of Australia's most exciting artists. The exhibitions are always worth the trip.

Brunswick Street Gallery — 322 Brunswick St In the heart of Fitzroy, this gallery serves as a meeting place for Australian artists and collectors. Regular exhibitions, print editions, and a strong community focus. Worth checking the programme before you visit.

Anna Schwartz Gallery — 185 Flinders Lane (nearby) One of Australia's most important contemporary art galleries. The programme represents established and emerging Australian and international artists.
