Union Club Hotel

A working-class Gore Street pub that's held the corner since 1854 and somehow survived everything Fitzroy has thrown at it. The Union Club is the kind of pub where the beer is cold, the carpet pattern is deliberately indestructible, and the regulars have been sitting in the same spot since the Keating government. Cheap pots, good parma, Sunday sessions with local bands. No pretension. No small-batch natural wine list. Just a proper pub doing proper pub things in a suburb that increasingly forgets what that means.
