The Shady Lady

Like drinking at your cool grandma's house — tasseled lampshades, dark teal walls, timber panels and worn concrete floors. Opened in 2018 by MandyJo Reinier and sisters Rosie and Georgina Maughan, The Shady Lady is a conscious rejection of white-tile minimalism. The knick-knacks are real family heirlooms; the lampshades are salad bowls with hot-glued tassels. A neighbourhood bar with genuine warmth and a dog-friendly courtyard.
