Fitzroy Stars Football Club

The Fitzroy Stars Aboriginal Football Club — one of the most important community organisations in Fitzroy, founded to provide a sporting home for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the inner city. The Stars play in the Northern Football League and have been a vital gathering place for the Aboriginal community since the 1980s, continuing the long tradition of Fitzroy as a spiritual home for Aboriginal Victorians who gathered here when nowhere else would have them.
